Summary: RECOVERjoy has prepared a party for you! Isn't that exciting?

The entire park is lit up with paper lanterns in shades of orange and yellow; there are even some floating serenely in the fountain. Music filters through the air, the style and tempo changing often. The robots you should by now be used to are moving about the area keeping the refreshments table stocked and cleaning up any messes that might appear. This is a party, after all.

[At first, the goodies seemed harmless enough. Enough to almost have Shizuo think that maybe, just maybe this place wasn't as bad as those texts and missions made it seem. Like that was all a joke. Then he had gotten to the poison.]

[And then the pocket knives.]

The hell? That bastard flea put these together or something?

[He didn't even get to the other blades.]

[Masaomi is inspecting a razor blade when he hears Shizuo's statement from behind and whirls around a little too quickly, as if expecting the man in question to be looking over his shoulder. Instead, he's met with Heiwajima Shizuo and promptly blows a note on the kazoo in his mouth.]

[kingshizuchan]

[... Was he being kazooed at? Tilting his head enough to see the culprit, Shizuo stared for a little bit. Was it a hello, or... Putting the pocket knife back, he uses the now-freed hand to raise his hand a bit in greeting.]

Yo.

[It was half sigh-of-relief and half sudden intake of breath, oops. These two things don't exactly mix. Time to take the thing out of his mouth so that he can actually talk. Not that the ability to talk is always a good thing when discussing Masaomi.]

It reminds me of something irritating.

[Or someone as they'd both know. Not that Shizuo knows that they both would.]

[Izaya doesn't always qualify as a someone anyway.

Masaomi looks from his own bag to Shizuo's, contemplating whether he should ask what he wants to ask.]

[Fleas are things and not ones, after all. With the question, Shizuo is just staring at the teenager. Closing the bag, he adjusts the glasses.]

I'd rather not have any of those things spreading around, actually.

[A sheepish smile.]

Guess not.

[That vial is pretty iffy, yeah, especially when one of the missions involves poisoning people's drinks.]

The yo-yos and kazoos aren't too bad though. Kinda funny, actually.

[Vials, knives, dyes and other things he'd rather not have spread around as much as it's going to be already.]

Guess so. Seems they were put on top to make the bag seem harmless at first.

Well, they started this whole thing the same way, right? Give people a harmless mission and only tell them how the points system works after.

[He frowns down at the kazoo, inspecting it.]

It's not like it's surprising or anything. Well, not anymore anyway.

Ah... Normally this would piss me off enough to want to go and kick their asses.

[He hasn't actually seen anything go flying since he got here. This is strange.]

[Shizuo still wasn't completely sure as to what was going on with it. The best he could guess...]

I guess they kinda filled half the request I put in that application to get here...

[That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to Masaomi, but he's not about to question it out loud. There's a difference between asking why big, bad boss Heiwajima Shizuo isn't angry and asking why big, bad boss Heiwajima Shizuo is here.]

Doesn't sound too horrible. Should probably check to make sure they didn't charge you extra.

[Not too much of a difference when one actually understood why big, bad boss Heiwajima Shizuo wanted the company to make him less of a big, bad boss. It's not exactly completely right, either. So really, Shizuo's guess is wrong anyway.]

I guess... Though there's troublesome people around at the same time.

Thinking they planted some crazies in with everybody else?

Can't say I know that much. They were either planted or wanted to come into a game like this.

Maybe they weren't happy while cooped up in the looney bin.
