Summary: Arrivals.
You want happiness. A company called RECOVERjoy has offered it to you, so you've signed up with them. Gaining happiness can't hurt, right?

Suddenly you're in a room, an apartment, with three other beds and unfamiliar faces. This is your assigned room, and it's quite crowded. You don't get much of a chance to think as your phone beeps--it's not your phone, maybe you've never had a phone, but there's one in your hand so you check it. It's a smart phone, nothing special about it, but now you've received a text from RECOVERjoy.

Welcome to Joywick! We're so happy to have you!

You've arrived in your assigned room, we hope you like it! Don't worry, you can move out once you've collected enough joypoints. Speaking of, if you'd like to check your balance, there's a special application that tracks it for you right on your phone! Handy, right?

... Did you check? If you did, you'll notice you have no joypoints. But don't despair! We're giving you a special mission. Make three (3) friends and get 200 joypoints! Gee, that's easy! Of course, we can't put a level on something like friendship, so just get to know people. Don't miss out on these easy points! We'll give you more information about joypoints once you're done.

The only way to get those joypoints is to steal theirs. How? Take their happiness away. It's easy! Maybe a rumor here, an injury there... but if you want the big points, be creative!

[Mary has been wondering the streets out of fascination more than for her thoughts. Her game plan was thoroughly simple and would continue to be so, so long as it gave her enough time to gawk at real trees.

She was pulled by a child's sense of adventure to the park and, upon seeing Elliot on the swing, is insistently curious!]

Nope, I haven't. [She wonders if that's strange of her. Would this guy think she was weird for admitting it?

She pushes away any intimidation she might feel and persists. It must all be a part of making friends.]

Putting on his best smile, Elliot got off the swing himself, crouching down a bit so he could be on her level.]</sub>

Would you? [She suddenly felt like she should be shy- if not a bit more humble with her inquiries. She's only met so many adults in her life, so speaking with one is still unfamiliar territory.

Still, he seemed nice enough and not so serious as before. Her interest wouldn't let her deny the offer so-!]

_{[It's go time - consider yourself picked up and placed on the swing!]}

[Whoa there- Wait is she ready for this? Is it dangerous?

_{[A few steps and he's behind her, gloved hands on the chains as well.]}

I'm going to give the swing a bit of a push, okay? Not a big one - just a small one. Don't be scared, alright? It's fun. I promise.

[plucks]

[She dramatically nods, gripping the chains tight and showing just how ready she is by frowning in the face of danger! Clearly this meant impending flight or something like that. She just might get out with a scrape.

But Elliot promised it was fun and promises are as legit as it gets with Mary.]

Okay, Elliot. I'm ready!

Take off! [mary no.]

_{[It's time to push the little girl on the swing then and he does just that, pulling her back a bit (not too much mind you) before letting go, letting gravity do its job.]}

[plucks]

[Even if it's just a small push, Mary is soon delighted. She laughs when it continues to swing almost on its own.

Honestly, what did she expect to happen?]

No way! Why haven't I seen this in a book?

[It lulls as swings do and she looks at Elliot.] It's really fun. Do you get to do this a lot?

_{[Considering all the shit that went down oh so recently, getting to indulge in something so simple is somewhat of a relief. Mary's laughter is light to his ears and he finds himself smiling at her again.]}

I haven't gone on a swing in quite awhile, but I used to love it when I did.

Why not? Do you not get to have fun? [She's nosy like most gets are, even without meaning to be.

Nonetheless, it's only offhand curiosity once he offers another push. She nods, kicking her feet up.]
