Summary: Arrivals.
You want happiness. A company called RECOVERjoy has offered it to you, so you've signed up with them. Gaining happiness can't hurt, right?

Suddenly you're in a room, an apartment, with three other beds and unfamiliar faces. This is your assigned room, and it's quite crowded. You don't get much of a chance to think as your phone beeps--it's not your phone, maybe you've never had a phone, but there's one in your hand so you check it. It's a smart phone, nothing special about it, but now you've received a text from RECOVERjoy.

Welcome to Joywick! We're so happy to have you!

You've arrived in your assigned room, we hope you like it! Don't worry, you can move out once you've collected enough joypoints. Speaking of, if you'd like to check your balance, there's a special application that tracks it for you right on your phone! Handy, right?

... Did you check? If you did, you'll notice you have no joypoints. But don't despair! We're giving you a special mission. Make three (3) friends and get 200 joypoints! Gee, that's easy! Of course, we can't put a level on something like friendship, so just get to know people. Don't miss out on these easy points! We'll give you more information about joypoints once you're done.

The only way to get those joypoints is to steal theirs. How? Take their happiness away. It's easy! Maybe a rumor here, an injury there... but if you want the big points, be creative!

THE PARK

[Make three friends?

Well, that shouldn't be hard, Blanche thinks. There are suckers on every corner. It shouldn't be too hard to find three saps to buddy up to. Besides, the more people she's nice to, the more people she'll have when she needs them around to do something for her.

The park is peaceful and even kind of pretty, and seems like a good place to start. Blanche is wandering one of the paths, chewing her lip nervously, doing a fantastic job of looking lost and confused before she spies someone. She runs over to them and taps them on the shoulder.]

Ah! I'm sorry. I don't mean to impose, but I think I've gotten lost.

[They'll probably notice that her dress doesn't look like something any modern person would wear. It's large, floofy, and very old-fashioned.]

[Lithuania's first thought, turning to the girl, is that the dress makes her look a bit like a princess. Though new to the city, Lithuania's expression is sympathetic and he wants to at least attempt to be helpful.

Suckers on every corner indeed.]

I'm afraid I'm new to this place, Miss, so I don't know where everything is, but I'll help out if I can. Are you looking for someplace specific?

[The sympathetic expression gets a smile from Blanche. A little shy, but mostly warm.

He'll do nicely.]

Oh. [There's mild disappointment in her voice when he says he's new, but she still seems happy enough.] Well, thank you! I just hope I'm not too much trouble. But I appreciate you being willing to try to help me like this....

Do you at least know the way back to the dorms? I don't remember how to get back anymore. I'm so terrible with directions. It's a little embarrassing.

[Lithuania's expression only grows more sympathetic; her shy smile and old-fashioned attire are doing nothing to dissuade Lithuania from the idea of a princess who needs rescuing, even if the rescuing is just informing her where she dorm rooms are.]

I wouldn't be too embarrassed! New places can be confusing if you aren't used to them. The rooms are in that direction--[he points]--I could give you directions or walk you back, if you'd like.

Oh! Would you please walk me back? [Blanche gives him a bright, hopeful smile, clasping her hands in front of her.] I mean -- oh, I'm not interrupting anything you wanted to do, am I?

[vytis]

You're not interrupting anything--I'd be happy to walk you back. It will be good for both of us to get used to going back there, I'm sure.

[He'll start off down the road once he's sure she's coming along.]

My name is Lithuania. It's nice to meet you, Miss.

[adieuche]

[Never let it be said a gentleman doesn't stop to help a lady in distress, even ones dressed in clothes straight out of some renaissance fair. Yagyuu turns at the tap on his shoulder with a polite smile; if helping someone on the way to his destination allows him to accomplish this first task more quickly, then all the better. He doesn't intend to waste time.]

It's no trouble. Where were you going?

[Blanche smiles coyly at him, using a finger to toy a bit with one of her dark curls.]

Ah... I was hoping to find my way back to the dormitories.

[With a shy smile, she edges a little closer to him, her hand leaving her to hesitantly reach out for his.]

[adieuche]

[The smile goes a bit strained at that, but Yagyuu offers his arm anyway. There are certain things expected of him, even in a place that isn't home, and he's never been one to let down expectations.]

They're back this way. I can show you if you'd like. My name is Yagyuu Hiroshi, and you are...?

[cursedprincess]

[She takes note of the strained smile, and decides not to push for anything further. There's no need to frighten him, after all.]

Princess Blanche of -- ah, well, I suppose it doesn't matter. My kingdom isn't important here, is it?

[She looks nervous.]

My, a princess? It's a pleasure to meet you, Blanche-san.

[Well, he supposes all sorts of people must be playing the game. Everyone wants to be happy, after all.]

I suppose we're all equal here, but it must be difficult for you to adjust.

Re: THE PARK

[When he felt a tap on his shoulder, the assassin in Bel wanted to turn around, knives in hand, and inform them that yes, it would be an inconvenience to the prince.]

[But when he turned around and saw a girl that looked quite like a medieval princess, Belphegor merely gives a smile- though, there's something a bit off about it, even with all that hair covering his eyes.]

Ah, a day in and you're lost already? 'shishi! Perhaps you should invest in a map rather than asking people who are quite busy, little girl.

[Blanche bites her lower lip. Oh dear. This person is wandering around with knives. Perhaps she should creep off and find someone else.

The smile he gives her reaffirms that she has reason to be nervous. It simply isn't right. There's something about it that makes even Blanche feel a tiny bit uneasy.

To run or not to run? It might be better to have him with her than against her, she decides, as long as she doesn't trust him with anything important.]

Busy with what?

[He giggles slightly, and the knife slides back into his sleeve. She was certainly cute, in that innocent sort of way. Perhaps she could be on the "use for the mission points now, carve up later" list.]

Getting to know the surroundings, of course. You can't drop into a city and be completely ignorant of it. [So in less ego-filled words, he's just as lost as she is.]

[Right. Well. That's helpful to know, in a way. At least he doesn't know anything she doesn't.

But he might. She eyes the knives nervously but takes a few hesitant steps closer to him regardless, trying to gauge whether or not it's safe to flirt with him outright.]

W-well, no. Of course you couldn't. But...

[She looks at him, and blinks. Then she smiles.]

That's a pretty crown you're wearing.

[ushishishi]

[Realizing that this was probably a harmless little girl, Bel let his guard down ever so slightly. Of course he was always ready to fight if something came up, but he doubted this one wasn't a threat. Therefore, her approach didn't bother him in the slightest.]

[He gave a few soft giggles did get close, however.]

Pretty? This is a prince's crown. It would do you well to respect that.

[The arrogance behind those words said that he really meant it's worth.]

[ Oh? Oh, oh? A comrade in arms in being lost...!? ]

It's okay! Ah, I wish I could help out more but... I'm a bit lost too.

That's alright! M-Maybe we can find our way together! What's your name?

Ranka Lee! That's a pretty name! My name is Princess Blanche. It's lovely to meet you.

[Pause.]

Wait. If we're going to find our way back together, does that mean we're friends? At least for the purposes of the mission...

[ she's mostly doing recon, figuring out locations and just where everything is in the city when she feels the tap on her shoulder. she whirls, a bit sharper than she would normally, and her eyes are still a little hard, even when she sees that the person in question is a young girl in a large dress. ]

Hate to break it to you, but we're all pretty lost. [ she sighs though, shoving the pad of paper she was writing landmarks down on into her bag. ] But where were you trying to go?

[cursedprincess]

[Blanche notices the slip of paper before the other girl shoves it down, and blinks at it.] Ah~? What is that?

[She sighs.] I was afraid of that. I was trying to see if I could find a clothing store. I wanted to see what they have. The dress I'm wearing isn't something you can just go around in in this weather.

[techissexy]

[ her eyes flick only quickly to blanche at her question. ] A list. [ and that's all you'll get; she's not feeling very open or sociable right now; she's more focused on figuring this place out.

but, she does have an answer. ] Yeah, the lolita look is something I haven't seen much these days. And it'd surprise me if you'd be able to get anything done in that.

Lucky for you, I saw some stores on the other side of the park. I guess I'm not doing anything right now, if you really are that lost.

[Alto's out in the park, still keeping mostly to that area rather than going to check out the shops or other parts of the city. When he feels the tap on his shoulder, he turns and blinks at the woman standing before him, a little surprised at her dress. Either she's costumed for something, or people get brought from a lot of different places here.]

Ah... I don't think I can help, I just got here too.
