Summary: Arrivals.
You want happiness. A company called RECOVERjoy has offered it to you, so you've signed up with them. Gaining happiness can't hurt, right?

Suddenly you're in a room, an apartment, with three other beds and unfamiliar faces. This is your assigned room, and it's quite crowded. You don't get much of a chance to think as your phone beeps--it's not your phone, maybe you've never had a phone, but there's one in your hand so you check it. It's a smart phone, nothing special about it, but now you've received a text from RECOVERjoy.

Welcome to Joywick! We're so happy to have you!

You've arrived in your assigned room, we hope you like it! Don't worry, you can move out once you've collected enough joypoints. Speaking of, if you'd like to check your balance, there's a special application that tracks it for you right on your phone! Handy, right?

... Did you check? If you did, you'll notice you have no joypoints. But don't despair! We're giving you a special mission. Make three (3) friends and get 200 joypoints! Gee, that's easy! Of course, we can't put a level on something like friendship, so just get to know people. Don't miss out on these easy points! We'll give you more information about joypoints once you're done.

Well, you probably want more joypoints either way. Here's how! Look for another person. I bet they look fairly happy, right? Why are they happier than you? Because they've got the joypoints you need! The only way to get those joypoints is to steal theirs. How? Take their happiness away. It's easy! Maybe a rumor here, an injury there... but if you want the big points, be creative!

Rin shakes his head, a short laugh escaping him. Well, someone's gonna have to teach this guy how to make friends!]

[He waves a hand at him.] You've just gotta talk to people!

Just because you talk to people doesn't mean they're going to be your friend.

[Oh, he does have a point there. But as if Rin's actually going to acknowledge that.]

[Another shake of his head, his lips turning down in a slight frown, almost a pout even.]

Come on, you can't mean that!

[A pause. And he smiles again, speaking as if he's just had some kind of brilliant epiphany.] You just haven't met the right people, that's it! That's why you're so grumpy!

[Really, he reminds him of a grumpier and more talkative Akira. Can't let that be...!]

[gatto]

Sure you are! Come on, smile!

Has anyone ever told you you're annoying? Because you are. I hope you know that.

[gatto]

[Oh, of course he's heard that! But he's not about to take that lying down!

He crosses his arms and frowns, downright pouting by now.] Hey! How rude! You're not gonna make friends like that!

Then how do you suggest I make friends?! I only really ever needed one!

_{[And now that friend is dead. Yay. Or at least he thinks they're dead. Life is hard bro.]}

[gatto]

[He pauses, just a fraction of a second, perfectly still as he looks down at him with a frown.

--Then he's instantly back into motion, moving in closer to the swing.] I told you. You've just gotta talk to people! Like how you're talking to me, y'know?

And don't tell people they're annoying when you do!

If they irritate me I'm going to tell them that.

But they're not gonna like that!

How'd you make your other friend?

[guielliotine]

...I kind of got in his face and never backed down. There was a lot of yelling involved.

_{[And flying pieces of furniture.]}

[Paaaaaauuuuse.

Well, then.

He promptly bursts out laughing, although it's a short laugh.]

I dunno if that's gonna work for everyone. How 'bout you try just introducing yourself to people first?

_{[Introduce himself...Right.]}

...I'm Elliot Nightray.

[gatto]

[He grins and folds his arms behind his head.]

I'm Rin! That wasn't so hard, huh?

_[Sarcastic.]

Unbearably difficult.

[gatto]

Eh? That's no good! How are you gonna make two more friends like that?

[He's just gonna ignore that sarcasm right there, yep.]

[guielliotine]

I'm kidding. It wasn't that difficult!

[gatto]

[He laughs and shakes his head.] Maybe you're not so grumpy, after all! You can make jokes, too!

[Winks!] You've gotta do that with two other people now!

[gatto]

Yeah, yeah, that's right! That's the mission!
