OPENING LOG.
Characters: Everyone!
Date: August 11th
Rating/Warnings: Nothing as of yet. Mark anything that qualifies a warning in your subject line!
Summary: Arrivals.
You want happiness. A company called RECOVERjoy has offered it to you, so you've signed up with them. Gaining happiness can't hurt, right?
Suddenly you're in a room, an apartment, with three other beds and unfamiliar faces. This is your assigned room, and it's quite crowded. You don't get much of a chance to think as your phone beeps--it's not your phone, maybe you've never had a phone, but there's one in your hand so you check it. It's a smart phone, nothing special about it, but now you've received a text from RECOVERjoy.
Welcome to Joywick! We're so happy to have you!
You've arrived in your assigned room, we hope you like it! Don't worry, you can move out once you've collected enough joypoints. Speaking of, if you'd like to check your balance, there's a special application that tracks it for you right on your phone! Handy, right?
... Did you check? If you did, you'll notice you have no joypoints. But don't despair! We're giving you a special mission. Make three (3) friends and get 200 joypoints! Gee, that's easy! Of course, we can't put a level on something like friendship, so just get to know people. Don't miss out on these easy points! We'll give you more information about joypoints once you're done.
Wishing you happiness,
RECOVERjoy : )
You're in this for 1 million joypoints, aren't you? Might as well get started.
(AFTER THE MISSION HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED OR ONCE 24 HOURS HAVE PASSED)
You receive another text from RECOVERjoy.
Great job on the mission! Or not so great job for those who didn't do it. : (
Well, you probably want more joypoints either way. Here's how! Look for another person. I bet they look fairly happy, right? Why are they happier than you? Because they've got the joypoints you need! The only way to get those joypoints is to steal theirs. How? Take their happiness away. It's easy! Maybe a rumor here, an injury there... but if you want the big points, be creative!
You want to be happy, don't you?
Wishing you happiness,
RECOVERjoy : )
... Not quite what you expected when you signed up. You can't leave, though, you still owe RECOVERjoy 500 joypoints and, well, you came here for a reason.

We'll leave it at that for now. Poor boy.
[So what was his problem?
[With Masaomi having taken a step back, Shizuo closed the gap when reaching for the collar of the shorter boy's shirt.]
Then you're gonna take responsibility for that hit, right?
[Quick Kida, explain!]
no subject
He also doesn't deserve any kind of easy escape. Just when he'd finally stepped up to take responsibility for shit just like this, he only managed to make everything worse. How can he expect anything to go well for him now?
So much for getting away for a while.]
I-
[Oh, what's the point? He chuckles humorlessly, the courage of someone with nothing to lose.]
Everything.
Everything got out of hand. And I let it happen. So... yeah. [A small, rather helpless shrug.] I can do that.
no subject
[Shizuo was listening to Kida's words properly, though. All the attention on the boy, and whatever went through his mind led to some kind of conclusion.
Later, Kida's body was reported on JOYnews headlines. No excuses, no weaseling out of a bad situation, and no bragging...[He let go of the teenager's shirt. After adjusting the sunglasses.]
Right. Then we'll start from the beginning.
[And so came the strike! The ever-powerful flick to the forehead!
[...
[Except it didn't actually have the concussive power that it normally would have, or a person from Ikebukuro would expect from Shizuo Heiwajima. Actually, while he was surprised himself, the glare of the sun on the shades managed to obscure it. Not that this was the first time that there was an issue with his strength, but. Er...]
If you knew me and are serious about this, then you should've addressed me properly.

Heiwajima Shizuo just flicked his forehead.
A hand rises to the spot as Masaomi blinks stupidly up at the fortissimo of Ikebukuro. It actually hurts, which is more than can be said for any normal flick, but it's rather anti-climactic for Heiwajima.
Isn't he going to throw him across town or something? Break every bone in his body?
...
Was he hoping for that?]
R-Right. Sorry.
[He hastily rubs at the spot before dropping his hand to his side, still confused and feeling no less restricted now that Heiwajima's let go of him.]
Wasn't expecting to see any familiar faces, let alone...
[And he leaves it at that.]
no subject
[Instead just rolling with the confusion, he distractedly took out one of his cigarettes to start on a new one. Buying time, thinking back on that 'familiar faces' line. It... Well, it was true.]
I guess everyone has something they want done or fixed.
[If this kid was here, though... Who else was?]
no subject
...Maybe not everyone.
[But more than he'd ever imagined.]
no subject
[It's not a sarcastic question. It just seemed like an 'everyone' thing, but he doesn't know much about others. Didn't hurt to ask.]
no subject
[It sounds dumb, but he doesn't know what else to say.]
