You want happiness. A company called RECOVERjoy has offered it to you, so you've signed up with them. Gaining happiness can't hurt, right?

Suddenly you're in a room, an apartment, with three other beds and unfamiliar faces. This is your assigned room, and it's quite crowded. You don't get much of a chance to think as your phone beeps--it's not your phone, maybe you've never had a phone, but there's one in your hand so you check it. It's a smart phone, nothing special about it, but now you've received a text from RECOVERjoy.

Welcome to Joywick! We're so happy to have you!

You've arrived in your assigned room, we hope you like it! Don't worry, you can move out once you've collected enough joypoints. Speaking of, if you'd like to check your balance, there's a special application that tracks it for you right on your phone! Handy, right?

... Did you check? If you did, you'll notice you have no joypoints. But don't despair! We're giving you a special mission. Make three (3) friends and get 200 joypoints! Gee, that's easy! Of course, we can't put a level on something like friendship, so just get to know people. Don't miss out on these easy points! We'll give you more information about joypoints once you're done.

[From his novel Latvia glanced up, expecting to see someone much younger than he did. Casting his gaze back down to the lines of text in front of him he wondered if he should approach. Well, all he had to do was get to know three people. Maybe she'd be easy to get along with]

Uh... hello. Have you lived in the city long?

( she looked up from the book. )

This is Shiro's first time outside of Deadman Wonderland.

Ah, I see...

[Deadman Wonderland...? That sounded pretty ominous. Let's not ask what kind of a place it's like]

Are you Shiro then? My name's Raivis, it's nice to meet you.

( it's hell covered in candy. )

Raivis. Is that a type of candy?

Uh... No, it's my name.

I don't think there's a candy called Raivis... Not where I live at least.

Shiro wants something to eat...

( she begins to roll around on the ground then stops when her stomach growls loudly. )

Then Ganta isn't here. Shiro wants Ganta. Maybe you can be Shiro's new Ganta!

Is Ganta a person?

[Even if they are, he hopes with all his being that he hasn't accidentally introduced himself to a cannibal]

Um, if you're lost I can help you look for them.

Yeah Ganta is Shiro's bestest friend, but he isn't here.

( nope just someone who has a split personality; the other side enjoys watching people suffer and isn't as dense. )

But Shiro wants food. Can you give Shiro food?

Shiro just said Ganta isn't here!

( she pouts then stands up and walks to lativa. shiro then poked his nose. )

But alright. Shiro wants ice cream.

[Latvia probably should have realised he was someone from her home and not someone from the city. And the poke of his nose he backs away a step but still seems intent on helping her]

I-I'm not sure where you can buy ice-cream, but we'll look for it.

( she jumps up and down for a bit before hugging him; pretty much jumping on him. )

Let's go!!

[He flinches at the hug as if preparing to be attacked. It seemed like personal space was still a rare commodity to him]

A-alight, I'll treat you.

[Latvia leads her out of the library, although from there he isn't too sure which direction to go in]

( she smiles and clings onto him tightly. )

Shiro wants cookies too! Oh! Oh!! Can we get yogurt too?

Uh... W-well let's just get ice-cream first and then see how you feel.

[In the end he picks a direction and decides to take it. As they walk along he tries to subtly worm his way out of her grip]

( no worries, she lets go and runs towards the grocery store that was conviently in that direction.

sadly for him she eats like an animal. )

Yay! What flavour are you getting?

[Breaking into a small jog he catches up with her]

Depends on what flavours they have.

( she stops and waits for him. after all he is the one paying. )

Shiro wants chocolate and vanilla and maybe strawberry.

It really depends how much...

[Browsing through the prices it finally hits him that everything is marked in joypoints. Currently his total is at zero. Less than zero in fact! There's still the debt he needs to pay back. All Latvia had were Lats and Euros]

Maybe it's a bit expensive...

Then we should steal it!

( she'll understand if he tells her that he has no points. she still needs to make one more friend. )

No! No, we can't do that!

[Not wanting any sort of situation to start he thinks quickly]

I don't have any points to pay for anything but I did bring some snacks with me. I know it's not ice-cream but will that do instead?

Okay that's fine!

( and she runs out the store dragging him along. )

Let's go! go! go!! Shiro thinks you might be her new best friend!

Aa-h!

[Latvia stumbles out after her, still trying to escape her grasp]

Th-they're back at my room! Do you know where the apartment block is?

Uh...

( she stops then falls to the ground. she looks up at the sky and points up to the sky. )

Is it up there?

N... Not exactly. Actually I'm on the bottom floor.

I think I can find my way back though. If there's a map somewhere it'll be easy. Don't worry about it, just follow me.
