Summary: After several promises to buy her sweets, Latvia finally makes good on those promises.

[This really was the most non-nonsensical game he'd ever played. Happiness was something that couldn't be measured in points, nor was it a limited resource.

At least he hoped it wasn't...

Besides, wouldn't it make more sense to award points for making other people happy? If they really wanted to make everyone happy and solve their problems it seemed more productive and encouraging. Points or no points, Latvia wanted to make other people happy. Mostly because in turn that made him happy, but then it was just a win-win situation.

The weather was starting to get colder and he bundled up in a thick sweater. As Latvia waited by the door of the apartments he fidgeted with the phone he was issued. He hoped Shiro got his message. He was pretty sure she lived in the same building, he just wasn't exactly sure which room. In the end, this seemed much easier. In a way it was nice to look after someone rather than be looked after, even though it could be annoying at times. Besides, he didn't want to gain a reputation for making false promises]

[Her energy is somewhat infectious and even Latvia can't help but brighten his smile a little as he picks three puddings from the shelf, purchases them and hands her two]

Here, I hope you and Ganta like them.

[pneumonia]

( she takes them and skips outside, parading the treats around. )

Come on~ Let's go outside!

[balzams]

I'm coming!

[He puts the third pudding inside his coat pocket and follows her outside. Besides the slight chill the weather isn't too bad. But really, this is nice. Why can't you gain points for making other people happy?]

So which one are you going to save for Ganta?

[pneumonia]

Caramel one!

( she bounces around a bit before she hugs him tightly. her way of saying thank you. )

[balzams]

[He lets out some kind of squeak as she hugs him, once again tensing and trying to carefully push her away to prevent the pudding in his pocket from getting crushed, as well as the terrible anxiety when it comes to unprompted human contact. Once there was enough distance he took a few steps back, fidgeting but still trying to smile]

I-I'm glad you're excited but... uh...

[Taking a few moments, Latvia tries to think of the best way to say it without sounding too harsh]

If you hug me without warning, it's a little surprising and it makes me uncomfortable... I don't mind, really. Just ask first in future. O-okay?

[pneumonia]

Oh okay.

( well in that case the logical side of her brain told her to never touch him again or even walk close to him. being this childish has it's downsides really.

she moves away from him, very far away and then skips forward. )

Shiro wants to go to the park!

[balzams]

Thank-you...

[He offers an apologetic smile, hoping that she isn't too disappointed by the development. Although he worries he has upset her as she moves far from him that soon disappears as she goes back to her cheerful and impulsive self]

Okay, okay! Not so fast, I'm not as young as you!

[A slip of the tongue maybe? Considering he does look a lot younger than her but it's completely the truth. Latvia isn't really sure if he should be telling people about his status as a nation, all things considered. Still, he tries his best to dash and keep up with her]

[pneumonia]

Young? You mean you're older than Shiro? Shiro is sixteen! Her friend Ganta is fifteen.

( she walks slower. well if he says that then clearly he's like grandpa. )

[balzams]

[Sixteen, really? Even though the certainly looked older than she acted, Latvia had to wonder what her life was life prior to her arrival here. Awkwardly he fidgeted with the tags on his coat. Surely it would be okay to tell someone like Shiro, she might not even understand anyway]

Mm, I'm a lot older than I look. It's a little complicated...

[pneumonia]

( for the most part it was hell. she was abused of and experimented on. so many scars, hence the body suit to hide it all. )

Are you like grandpa? He was young when I was a kid and turned into an old pile of bones when I was older.

[balzams]

Uh... probably not.

Even when you turn old I'll likely still look the same.

[He can wish for those extra few inches as much as he wants but by now he knows realistically it isn't going to happen any time soon]

I'm not actually human so I age quite differently.

[If anything he was the opposite of a dead man. Latvia can't count the number of times he would have died under normal circumstances]

I'm ah... I'm a nation. My real name isn't... well it is Raivis but it's a name I tend to use in passing. My full name would be the Republic of Latvia, have you heard of it?

[pneumonia]

[It was just something he did so often he never really thought about it like that but quickly he descended into panic mode]

Oh! N-no, nothing like that! My name is Raivis, I-I just use it more when speaking to humans or if I don't want people to find out. B-Besides I-I'm pretty much obsolete now so I'm probably not even a nation anymore. I'm probably lying to you by telling you that I am, haha! But then that would mean that I'm still lying to you... A-ah it's just all very complicated right now and I'm not sure what would be lying and what wouldn't be so please don't be angry, I'm not sure where I really am in all of this...

[pneumonia]

Shiro doesn't get it. What should she call you now?

[Taking a few deep breaths he ponders the question for a moment]

I think Raivis is fine...

[pneumonia]

But what if Shiro wants to call you Lativa?

[balzams]

Um... well I guess that's fine too...

[Honestly he wonders why he decided to tell her at all considering it only makes things more confusing]

[pneumonia]

Shiro wants to call you Raivis!

( she laughs and runs around him in circles, her long white hair swishing back and forth. )

Make up your mind!

[It was said with a hint of playfulness, maybe there really wasn't anything to worry about]

( she stops and laughs. )

What if Shiro calls you pudding?

[balzams]

Then I'll call you crème caramel!

( she laughs brightly and spins around on her right heel. )

[Latvia laughs a little at the cute reaction. He's certainly a lot more relieved that the situation didn't turn out as dire as he thought it would]

You're not really going to call me pudding though, are you?

I don't think it suits me.
